Nidovac™ Na-Citrate tubes are available 3.2%, 0.109 M buffered Na-Citrate tube the concentration for Citrate is as per the CLSI standard (1:9 ratio anticoagulant vs blood draw ratio)

Tubes are made with innovative Tube in Tube (Sandwich Tube) technology. Where the internal tube is made of PP (Good for liquid retention) and external tubes is made up of PET good for Vacuum retention.

Sandwich Tube technology also helps in reducing the empty Head-space inside the tube after blood collection. Lesser plastic head space inside tube means reducing chances for Platelet activation upon mixing of specimen.

Nidovac™ Na-Citrate tube wall also undergoes BIONIC TREATMENT resulting in glass like smoothness on inner wall surface. All steps helps for better cell stability, lesser Platelet activation upon mixing of sample resulting in improve coagulation readings.

Mode of action:Na-Citrate anticoagulant binds with the Calcium molecule making it unavailable for Coagulation process in sample for blood, hence stopping the Coagulation cascade. But gives a reversible anti-coagulation effect to blood sample and blood can be brought back to normal clotting stage upon re-calcification in the lab.

Mixing:4-5 times gentle inversion cycle

Common test:

  • PT Prothrombin Time (PT) , Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT) ,Thrombin Time (TT), Fibrinogen , Fibrin degradation products (FDP) , D-dimer
  • Whole blood cell count test : (multiply the reading with 1.1 to negate the dilution effect)
Code Volume Size Additive Packing
NVNC018 1.8 ml 13 x 75 mm 3.2% Na-Citrate 100 x 12
NVNC027 2.7 ml 13 x 75 mm 3.2% Na-Citrate 100 x 12

Note:

Avoid over mixing of Na-Citrate tube, over-mixing can cause platelet activation leading to falsely lowered clotting time.
